Classic Kenyan Safari Vacation

This Classic Kenyan Safari Vacation was planned for a couple from Texas. They had been to South Africa and Botswana and wanted to go on safari in Kenya, as well.

We started their Classic Kenyan Safari Vacation in Amboseli National Park at Amboseli Serena Safari Lodge. In this luxury lodge located in a secluded grove of acacia trees, they enjoyed magnificent views over the golden savannah plains out to Mt. Kilimanjaro. They set off on morning and afternoon game drives to see the huge numbers of wallowing elephants, hippos, buffalos and plains game attracted to a series of emerald green swamps, which are fed by the melting snows of Kilimanjaro.

From there, their Classic Kenyan Safari Vacation took them to a mobile tented camp in Ol Pejeta Conservancy. Here, they were able to enjoy a completely different safari experience, sleeping in luxurious accommodations under a canvas roof. They went on game drives to see the rhinos and other wildlife, and relaxed each evening on their private deck overlooking the local waterhole.

Next on their Classic Kenyan Safari Vacation, they traveled to Flamingo Hill Camp in the heart of Lake Nakuru National Park. They enjoyed the stunning scenery of the Great Rift Valley, ringed by shoals of extinct and dormant volcanoes, and witnessed millions of flamingos gathered at Lake Nakuru.

They ended their Classic Kenyan Safari Vacation at the luxurious Mara Serena Safari Lodge in the famous Maasai Mara. The mara is home to the awe-inspiring annual migration of thousands of wildebeest, antelopes, and other animals across the plains. In addition to this incredible spectacle, they saw the Big 5 of Africa on game drives, and took a guided walk through the bush to meet the ecosystem’s smaller animals. On their final full day on safari, they treated themselves to a once-in-a-lifetime experience: a hot air balloon ride over the Maasai Mara. They witnessed the plains coming to life as the sun rose, then enjoyed a delicious champagne breakfast in the bush upon landing.

At last, their Classic Kenyan Safari Vacation came to an end. After a fabulous breakfast at the lodge, they were transferred to Nairobi to begin their journey home.
