We designed this Kruger Safari, City, and Winelands Vacation for a honeymoon couple from Seattle. This was their bucket list trip to South Africa and they wanted to see it all!

They started their trip in Johannesburg, where they were picked up from the airport and set off right away on a private tour of the city and surrounding province. They saw the city’s incredible street art, explored historic sights, and discovered some of the best restaurants in town.

Next on their Kruger Safari, City, and Winelands Vacation, they flew to the beautiful city of Cape Town. They stayed at a fabulous boutique hotel right in the heart of town, so they could easily explore fashionable Bree Street and the Woodstock markets. During their stay, they had a private shark cage diving tour and spent a day on the hop-on hop-off wine tram, tasting delicious wines in the picturesque Franschhoek Valley.

Then it was time for their wildlife safari in Kruger National Park! They spent 3 nights at a gorgeous bush camp in Thornybush Game Reserve, a private reserve sharing an unfenced border with Kruger. The camp has only 4 guest rooms, so they were treated like royalty and received highly personalized service. They went on game drives to see the Big 5 and spent the evenings enjoying scrumptious meals with fellow guests around the campfire.

Their Kruger Safari, City, and Winelands Vacation continued at Garonga Safari Camp, another intimate camp with just 6 luxury guest tents. They loved the look and feel of their suite, with its perfect blend of luxury and nature. They even saw wild elephants roaming around from the comfort of their private verandah!

During their stay, they decided to be a bit adventurous and spend an evening in the sleep-out. Raised high on a wooden platform, the sleep-out bed features a comfy bed with a mosquito net and a private dining set up. They fell asleep immersed in the sights, sounds, and smells of the remote African bush—a truly wild experience.

At last, it was time to say goodbye to the beautiful South African wilderness and head back to reality. They flew back to Johannesburg, where they began their journey back home.

Day 1
Welcome to Johannesburg! A representative will meet you at the gate and escort you through customs before showing you to your private tour vehicle. Enjoy a private tour of Johannesburg and the Gauteng province tailored to your interests. You’ll have complete freedom to explore whatever you prefer: sightseeing, shopping, museums, art galleries, or even casinos. You will then be dropped off at your hotel.

Day 2
Enjoy a private transfer to the airport and catch a flight to Cape Town. Transfer to Trevoyan Guest House, your home for the next 3 nights. Located on the slopes of Table Mountain in the residential neighborhood of Tamboerskloof, this boutique hotel is a welcoming oasis in the heart of the vibrant city. Breakfast in style on the sun-room veranda or take a gentle stroll to the local restaurants and bars for lunch or dinner.

Day 3
Are you ready for a once-in-a-lifetime adventure? Today you’ll embark on a private cage diving excursion with Great White Sharks! Rise early in the morning for a transfer to Klein Bay. Board your vessel for the 5-mile voyage to Dyer Island. The island, together with Geyser Rock nearby, is home to 40,000 Cape Fur Seals, the Great White Shark’s favorite prey, and the channel which runs between them is known as Shark Alley. This is where the anchor is lowered. Watch them feeding at the surface alongside the boat. The cage is then lowered and you’ll witness these incredible hunters of the deep at eye level, protected by galvanized steel mesh!

A light lunch and refreshments are served on the boat. Return to land at approximately 3 pm for your transfer back to Cape Town.

Day 4
Enjoy a private transfer from your hotel to the Franschhoek hop-on hop-off Wine Tram in the picturesque Cape Winelands. Journey through rolling vineyards in an open-side tram and open-air tram-bus, stopping in at some of South Africa’s oldest and most distinguished wine estates for cellar door tastings, lunch, or a leisurely stroll through the vineyards. The experience takes you right into the heart of the Franschhoek Valley, with a narration focusing on the history of Franschhoek and wine cultivation in the valley, complimentary wine tastings, and unparalleled views of the gorgeous scenery. When the Wine Tram is complete, you’ll be picked up from the station and dropped off in Cape Town.
