We designed this Kruger Safari, City, and Winelands Vacation for a honeymoon couple from Seattle. This was their bucket list trip to South Africa and they wanted to see it all!
They started their trip in Johannesburg, where they were picked up from the airport and set off right away on a private tour of the city and surrounding province. They saw the city’s incredible street art, explored historic sights, and discovered some of the best restaurants in town.
Next on their Kruger Safari, City, and Winelands Vacation, they flew to the beautiful city of Cape Town. They stayed at a fabulous boutique hotel right in the heart of town, so they could easily explore fashionable Bree Street and the Woodstock markets. During their stay, they had a private shark cage diving tour and spent a day on the hop-on hop-off wine tram, tasting delicious wines in the picturesque Franschhoek Valley.
Then it was time for their wildlife safari in Kruger National Park! They spent 3 nights at a gorgeous bush camp in Thornybush Game Reserve, a private reserve sharing an unfenced border with Kruger. The camp has only 4 guest rooms, so they were treated like royalty and received highly personalized service. They went on game drives to see the Big 5 and spent the evenings enjoying scrumptious meals with fellow guests around the campfire.
Their Kruger Safari, City, and Winelands Vacation continued at Garonga Safari Camp, another intimate camp with just 6 luxury guest tents. They loved the look and feel of their suite, with its perfect blend of luxury and nature. They even saw wild elephants roaming around from the comfort of their private verandah!
During their stay, they decided to be a bit adventurous and spend an evening in the sleep-out. Raised high on a wooden platform, the sleep-out bed features a comfy bed with a mosquito net and a private dining set up. They fell asleep immersed in the sights, sounds, and smells of the remote African bush—a truly wild experience.
At last, it was time to say goodbye to the beautiful South African wilderness and head back to reality. They flew back to Johannesburg, where they began their journey back home.
