Best of South African Luxury: Relaxation and Adventure

Book a perfect trip to South Africa! Stay at the country’s top experiential luxury hotels: the fashionable new Silo Hotel in Cape Town, a grandiose getaway in wine country, a luxurious beach house, and an incredible Big 5 safari lodge.

We designed this Best of South African Luxury: Relaxation and Adventure vacation for a high-powered couple from New York City. They wanted to see the highlights of South Africa and receive the VIP treatment throughout their trip, so we arranged this luxury vacation to some of the most exclusive, beautiful, and unique hotels in South Africa.

Their Best of South African Luxury: Relaxation and Adventure vacation began in Cape Town. They stayed at The Silo Hotel, which has set a new standard for Cape Town hotels since it opened in 2017. The Silo was included on Condé Nast Traveller’s Gold List in its first year of business. This exclusive hotel features breathtaking panoramic views; an ideal location in the heart of everything, yet away from crowds; and an exquisite collection of contemporary African art.

Next, they visited the Cape Winelands. Just an hour outside of Cape Town, the picturesque Franschhoek Valley was a perfect place to relax after their time in the city. Then they visited Hermanus for whale watching and shark cage diving.

Then it was time for their Big 5 wildlife safari! They traveled to the northeast side of the country to spend 3 nights at Royal Malewane safari lodge, located on a private game reserve bordering Kruger National Park. Royal Malewane offers a 5-star experience all around. The game viewing is unparalleled, and expert safari guides bring nature to life. You can even rent professional cameras and lenses to capture the perfect wildlife photos! Back at the lodge, they enjoyed exceptional service from the friendly lodge staff, and they loved their luxurious suite with their own private deck.

Their Best of South African Luxury: Relaxation and Adventure vacation was a dream from beginning to end. Our clients couldn’t decide which part of the trip was their favorite, and they promised to return to South Africa in a few years to do it all again!

Embark on a captivating culinary journey through Cape Town on a private walking food tour. Just as a country’s culture is interwoven with its cuisine, South Africa offers no exception. Many of its gastronomic traditions are deeply rooted in home cooking, demanding a thorough exploration to genuinely savor its intricate flavors, textures, and aromas. Guided by an enthusiastic local expert and foodie expert, this tour is designed to unveil contemporary culinary trends and the modern shifts within Cape Town’s food scene, while celebrating its traditional cultural heritage. Each stop will treat you to a small dish or beverage, accompanied by insights into its cultural significance. Engaging narratives about the neighborhood will provide a deeper understanding of what you are tasting and the authentic local way of life. The enchanting Bo-Kaap, a picturesque locale within the city, serves as a highlight of this tour. As the heart of the Cape Malay Community, it offers both beauty and flavor. Here, you’ll explore the charming streets and relish in tasting beloved local dishes, such as the traditional Muslim rose-flavored milk drink known as a falooda, and exquisitely cooked samosas with their flaky perfection. A visit to an Aladdin’s Cove of spices will offer insight into their integral role in the Cape Story—a chapter that began as a refreshment station for ships transporting spices between the East and West.
