Masai Mara Safari Packages: Great Migration and Beach Vacation

This is the ultimate East African adventure! Embark on a Great Migration safari in the Masai Mara and the Serengeti; indulge the senses at Gibb’s Farm, Ngorongoro Crater; and cap it all off with 4 nights at a luxurious island resort.

We designed this Masai Mara Safari Packages: Great Migration and Beach Vacation for 2 sisters from Colorado. They wanted an authentic, one-of-a-kind safari in Kenya and Tanzania to see the Great Migration. They were able to check that experience off their bucket list while also enjoying some relaxation at a luxurious coffee estate and a gorgeous island resort.

They arrived in Nairobi, where they were able to feed giraffes at the Giraffe Centre and see adorable baby elephants being bottle fed at the David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust. Next, they flew to Amboseli National Park to begin their East African safari. This Big 5 safari park offers incredible photo opportunities, with stunning views of Mt Kilimanjaro on a clear day.

Next on their Masai Mara Safari Packages: Great Migration and Beach Vacation, they flew to the Masai Mara, where the Great Migration of wildebeest was in full swing. They stayed at 2 incredible camps in the Mara: Serian “The Original” and Serian Nkorombo. Both camps feature prime wildlife viewing locations, exceptional service, and an authentic African charm! Our clients loved their stay here—especially having the luxury of a private safari vehicle with their very own tracker and guide. Then they flew to the Serengeti in Tanzania, where they spent 3 nights at Legendary Serengeti Camp. In addition to private game drives, they decided to do spend a day visiting a local village.

Continuing their Masai Mara Safari Packages: Great Migration and Beach Vacation, they flew to the Ngorongoro Crater for 2 nights at Gibb’s Farm. This fabulous lodge, situated on a lush coffee estate, is certainly a change of pace from most safari camps. They went on a game drive in the crater, but spent the rest of their time exploring the estate and simply relaxing at the lodge.

The last stop on their Masai Mara Safari Packages: Great Migration and Beach Vacation was Pemba Island, a gorgeous beach destination off the coast of Tanzania. They spent 4 nights at The Manta Resort in a luxurious seafront villa. After their action-packed itinerary, they simply wanted to lounge on the beach, soak up the sun, and be pampered. The resort was the perfect place to end their trip. They returned home feeling utterly rejuvenated, with plenty of stories to tell about their adventures in Africa!

At Serian, all of your game drives will be conducted in a private 4×4 safari vehicle with your own private guide and tracker, which means the day’s activities are entirely up to you. This snug little setup is chock-full of character with a view over the rushing Mara River, bursting with laughing hippo and languorous crocodile. Life at Nkorombo is low-key and tranquil. Nestled among a stand of wild olive and orange croton, the camp sits right next to a lively salt lick that regularly features black rhino, as well as lion and leopard on the lookout for kill. There is an abundance of prey in this area, and it’s the perfect spot for spectacular game viewing. One of the prime Great Migration river crossing spots is just around the bend from camp, and is extremely active from July to November.
