Chimpanzees & Gorilla Trekking: Uganda Adventure

The is our premier primate safari, featuring 2 full days of gorilla trekking tours as well as chimpanzee trekking.

The Gorilla Trekking Uganda: Rainforest Adventure is our premier primate trip, featuring chimp trekking and two full days of gorilla trekking. This once-in-a-lifetime adventure was planned for 3 wildlife enthusiasts from Kansas City who wanted to cross a gorilla sighting off their bucket lists. They overnighted at a lovely bed and breakfast in Entebbe before heading off to Uganda to begin their journey.

They stayed 2 nights at the tranquil Ndali Lodge overlooking a private lake. They spent the first day bird watching on the beautiful grounds and touring the vanilla farm. Then their Gorilla Trekking Uganda adventure continued with an early chimpanzee trek in Kibale Forest National Park, which has the largest concentration of chimps in Africa. They got up close with chimpanzees and the park’s many other species of primates, then enjoyed a traditional Ugandan lunch with a local community leader and had the rest of the evening to themselves.

Next they traveled to Queen Elizabeth National Park, which offers a diverse range of wildlife sightings, from tree climbing lions to hippos and hundreds of species of birds. They spent the night at the cozy and secluded Mweya Safari Lodge. The next day took them on a game drive in the Ishasha region on their way to Mahogany Springs Safari Lodge. They spent 2 nights at the lodge surrounded by stunning views of the river and rainforest.

Finally, it was time for a gorilla trekking adventure. Our clients ventured into Bwindi Impenetrable National Park to track a band of gorillas through their amazing rainforest habitat and watch them interact with each other in their nests. They spent the next night at Five Volcanoes Boutique Hotel, where they had a day to relax before another full day of gorilla trekking.

The next day, their Gorilla Trekking Uganda adventure came to an end. They had some time to explore the town of Kigali in Rwanda before heading to the airport for their trip home.
